Cuando bajan los niños y sube la IA: una oportunidad para la universidad chilena

Chile envejece más rápido de lo que imaginamos. La Tasa Global de Fecundidad cayó a 0,99 hijos por mujer en 2025, por primera vez por debajo del umbral de 1 hijo. Los nacimientos bajaron de 275.916 en 1993 a 146.300 en 2025, casi un 47% menos en tres décadas. Este dato traducido a las aulas y si la tendencia se mantiene, significaría que los nuevos matriculados en el sistema universitario podrían caer de unos 160.000 en la actualidad a cerca de 100.000 en 2043.

Como una forma de dar continuidad a la reflexión iniciada en Santiago, en mayo pasado, este segundo seminario, que se realizará en la Universidad de Concepción, busca analizar y profundizar esta materia desde una perspectiva territorial.
